Community

From the very outset, community has been at the heart of what we do and why we do it. This commitment was formalised when we became a Community Interest Company.

Get involved

Share your memories

We'd love to hear your memories of the Nornen, the lifeboats, Berrow, Burnham-on-Sea and all things local history. Got a story? Did your ancestor come to the aid of the stricken crew? Did you play in the wreck when you were little? We'd love to know about it.

Share your creative response to the Nornen

We've been so inspired by the creative flair we saw from people in our workshops this summer, from Sea Shanty Singing to Street Art. We want to see more and we want to celebrate it all!

So, we'll be dedicating a section of our website to your creative responses to the story of the Nornen. Written a poem about the storm? Papier-mached your own Great Dane? Got a photo of the wreck you're proud of? We'd love to see it all!

Get making with Cardboard Adventures

Did you know,  both our dog puppet and lifeboat were made out of cardboard?!

Our brilliant Designer, Sam Wilde, has created CardboardAdventures.co.uk so that you can make your own cardboard creations too. There are lots of different things to make, with different levels from easy to complex. You can even make the boat that our very own RNLI lifeboat used in the show was based on.

A Cardboard Adventurers small boad with a single mast and blue sail. Some black marker pen has been used to give the hull definition.

Thanks to our funders, Sam has created three patterns especially for the Nornen Project! They're free to make and lots of fun! Check them out on the links below and send us your photos - we'd love to see what you make!
